We had back to back development server meltdowns. The first was caused by me forcing the issue with PEAR mail. I was able to confirm that I am not alone in agony due to PEAR. I did not expect installing PEAR to wreck the server. I learned that the server to snapshot is live, not the backup, as I had it.
